Understandably, perhaps, this section comprises the bulk of my portfolio, as it emcompasses most of my work that I’ve done in professional writing. Below, you’ll find quick explanations for each section with a link to visit.
Master’s Thesis: My raison d’être, or how I conceive of my work as a professional communicator.
Stylistics: All about understanding how sentences work — and what happens when they don’t — this section includes an example of using stylistics to critically examine student-level work.
Document Design: Moving from the rhetorical to the practical, these documents illustrate the progress I’ve made in creating useful, practical designs.
Public Relations: This work covers many parts of public relations, from social media coding to creating a public relations campaign.
Social Media: Two pieces are included, including a presentation looking at authenticity in social media and a spec social media guide, which builds upon my previous work in Public Relations.
Strategic Communications: Covering a wide range of topics, from crisis communications to focus groups, this work has enabled me to broaden my skill set.
Communications Intern: working for a local public school system, I was able to put my new knowledge of usability and plain language to work as I produced new public-facing documentation for their website.
